Ageing is a natural progression in all of our lives but ageing well and having good skin health allows us to age more gracefully than ever before. Genetics and sun damage are the biggest factors contributing to the progression of ageing.
Thankfully, anti-ageing treatments have advanced from being enhancements that ultimately changed your appearance to a more natural, healthy result allowing a graceful, healthy progression over time.
We now have the opportunity to use energy base devices and lasers to achieve better skin quality , better skin health and a natural rejuvenated appearance.
Here at Dermatology Clinics Australia we have some of Australia’s most distinguished and experienced laser and aesthetic dermatologists who are able to provide you with the highest level of natural anti-ageing solutions in the form of combination treatments.
We have access to one of the countries largest laser suites, allowing treatments to be tailored to suit all ages using the devices most appropriate for you.
Anti-ageing Before & After Results
There are four main categories of treatment options for anti-ageing and cosmetic dermatology.
- Skin Care – Daily support for your skin
- Laser – Remove the wrinkles, address pigment and vascularity, and reverse sun damage.
- Injectables – Work synergistically with laser, to reduce dynamic wrinkles, replace volume loss, hydrate and rejuvenate.
- Plastic Surgery – Provide lift, remove loose and sagging skin, and provide surgical remodelling.
Skincare – Daily support for your skin
All of the other treatments below are done intermittently, but the skincare that you do at home is something that you are doing to your skin every day. If you are investing in having other treatments done, you must establish a good skin routine for your skin at home to maximise your benefits.
As one of Australia’s leading cosmetic dermatology practices, we are an ideal position to put together curated skincare plans for your individual concerns. Read more about Skin Care Here.
Laser – Remove the wrinkles and reverse sun damage
Laser treatments can provide an overall improvement in terms of removing deep wrinkles, photo-ageing, tone and texture while other lasers address particular concerns such as vessels, brown spots, pigmentation. Check out our Laser Overview here to understand more about how different types of lasers are used at our practice to deliver different outcomes safely and most effectively. Keep reading below to understand how laser treatments provide very different results to plastic surgery.
Injectables – Prolong results of laser and replace volume from youth.
Injectable treatments address two particular concerns with skin and work synergistically with laser and surgery for preventative reasons as well as maintenance.
Firstly, muscle relaxant injectables are used to relax the muscles, which prevents more and deeper wrinkles from forming on certain areas of the face. This does not remove any wrinkles that are currently present (which is what laser is there to do!) but it does prevent more from forming. We recommend using maintaining muscle relaxation after laser treatment to help maintain and prolong the outcomes of your laser treatment.
Secondly, filling injectables help to replace volume. We all lose volume in our face as we get older which inevitably changes the shape, structure and appearance of our faces. Filling injectables can be used to help replace the youthful volume and can actually help reinstate the shape of the face you were used to when you were younger.
There are also newer generation products that can provide hydration to skin as well as enable skin to rejuvenate and regenerate.

Plastic Surgery – Provide lift and remove loose and sagging skin
For patients who have significant laxity particularly in area areas like the lower face and neck or upper eyelids, plastic surgery is recommended. Laser often works well in conjunction with surgery to address the skin quality and integrity of the skin at the same time.
We work closely with our plastic surgical colleagues provide optimal outcomes with combination therapy lasers.
