Dr William Cranwell is a consultant dermatologist and Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists. Dr Cranwell completed his dermatology specialist training at tertiary referral hospitals in Melbourne, including The Alfred Hospital, The Royal Melbourne Hospital, and St Vincent’s Hospital. He was the recipient of the Australasian College of Dermatologists Research Fellowship to undertake training at St John’s Institute of Dermatology, London in 2020. Here he worked alongside world experts in complex eczema, psoriasis and paediatric dermatology clinics.
Dr Cranwell graduated with Honours from Monash University with dual degrees in Medicine and Biomedical Science. He has completed a Master of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. During specialist training, Dr Cranwell was the recipient of the Founders’ Medal for the highest overall score in Australia in the Procedural fellowship examinations. He also received the Adrian Johnson Memorial Prize for best publication in the Australasian Journal of Dermatology as the primary author of the Australian Expert Consensus Statement for the treatment of alopecia areata.
